Saddle Sores

In the interest of being true to my journal...the reason I am keeping this blog is to document fully my year of training for Ironman including the good, bad and the ugly...I must write about this cycling rite of passage. Well I am not digging this particular cycling issue, saddle sores.

It started way back at White Lake with some serious chafing and has slowly progressed despite my best efforts. So a trip to the doc for me, she will no doubt assume I have some horrible disease as she isn't much into sports.

I am looking for some new shorts and hope to keep riding. Hopefully, I'll get some help today and get rid of these little f^ckers once and for all!

Check on ANNN's blog on the available ointments. I'm a fan of A&D ointment and some Buttbutter. Lather up girl.
(you also may want to try a new saddle and/or double check your fit)

Tri's got the right idea. Without the chamois cream a ride can quickly turn into a tear jerker. There are some single use packs of chamois butter available (They had them at the White Lake store by packet pick up). It might be a good idea to keep one of those handy for longer rides.

With the shorts, Terry has some great female specific shorts that work perfectly for long distances. These are the only shorts I ride in now.
