Spin or Mash

My natural inclination is to mash the gears. I always feel out of control when I spin especially in aero. I KNOW I'm supposed to spin and I am working on it but it's not easy to change your riding style.

Part of my problem is I am not liking my triple crank these days. I can't seem to find the "sweetspot" gear...it's either too easy or too hard. Maybe a compact crank is the answer???
