Perspective

This morning I completed my long run for the week, a whopping 4 miles!!! It has been a long time since 4 miles was my longest run but it does mean I am able now to slowly build my distance.

It was difficult. I don't know if it's a mental or physical block or a combination of both, but even small increases in distance seem hard for me these days. I am trying to keep things in perspective and cut myself some slack.

Looking back it has been 10 months since I first got injured and during that 10 months I have only been able to run for 8 weeks. So of course it is going to take a while to get back in running shape. I am confident I can do this even if I am slow as molasses. Just get to me to the start line please!

4 miles is nothing to sneeze at - great job getting out there after a challenging and long injury!
