Let's start with the crazy geese. This is not some new Merlot from the Napa Valley but something that happened to me the other night while riding at West Creek. Now if you have ever ridden at WC you'll know about the geese that wander over the road in the middle of the 6 mile loop. Every time I ride there and the geese are out in force I think about the running into one of the damned creatures. Geese are not small so hitting one could be a nasty mess. Usually they stay out of the way, but on this particular night I actually hit one. Fortunately for me I only clipped it's wing, I am not sure if I hurt it but I am happy I didn't wreck.
Now for the brick. TG Bethany posted her double brick workout a few weeks ago and it just sounded like fun. So not having done one of these in a while I thought I would try it out. I decided to do 3 bricks of bike 6/run 1.3 miles; with the goal of riding moderately hard and maintaining the same pace for each brick. And what do you know, I nailed it. My splits were not blistering fast but they were exactly spot on.
- Loop 1 - 21 min bike, 13.47 run
- Loop 2 - 21 min bike, 13.56 run
- Loop 3 - 21.09 min bike, 13.55 run
What does this mean? Well it means I am getting better at pacing myself and my run endurance is definitely improving. Not fast but consistent, I'll take it, thank you very much!!!!!

Great idea for the 3 bricks and if you can stay consistent, then you are doing something right!
I'm doing IMFL as well and it'll be my first. I'll bookmark you and check back on you for the next 73 days... can you believe it's almost here? Ack!
